How do I know if my RAM is working in dual channel?

I took apart my laptop (Acer 6935) not long ago to check if RAM failure was stopping it from booting. A system restore fixed the problem, but the computer seems to be acting slower than usual ever since. I swapped the RAM around and it took even longer for the computer to boot, not to mention it was slightly less stable, and flash videos in Opera were showing grey rings and an exclamation mark after 7 videos instead of the usual 10. I am running Windows 7 32 bit with 4GB DDR3 Ram. Could removing the Ram somehow slow down the PC - like most used programs stored on a memory cache in the modules that dissipate when the stick is removed? Or could it be that the sticks, which are not matching, are no longer running in dual channel anymore? I ran Speccy, which says my max bandwidth s 533Mhz, which would be single channel speeds.

Secondly, does anybody know why Opera's flash plugin crashes when too many flash objects are open?
