I just graduated high school, moved to a new town, and started working about 35 hours at my job. Most of my old friends have either moved away for college, are still in high school, or are in the town I originally moved from about forty minutes away. I thought a fresh new start/break would be good before I started going to college, ya know, kind of getting a feel for the world... but for most of the time I'm alone with nothing to do. It's not like I'm anti-social, I jump at the chance to do fun, social things, but it's more the fact that I don't have money to do things anymore. If I had the money, I would go out with my old friends in my old town or go out somewhere here, but this is sadly not the case. So how can I meet new people in my town without having to spend a butt load of cash on concerts, movies, clubs, etc? I was thinking of volunteering, but I'd be up for anything else as well.
My usual social butterfly tendencies are starting to falter, and I've turned into a house hermit. So, social gurus, can you help me out of my lonely stump? Any suggestions are appreciated
