How do i reset the power steering light on a 2004 mazda rx8?

My power steering is out. power steering light is on. in the manual it says if the sensor indicates a problem and the power steering light comes on then the entire power steering system will turn off. i'd like to turn off the light and see if it works that way.

The power steering turns off because there is a problem with it, and the light is just an indicator that there is a problem with the power steering. Check your electrical connection to the power steering at the battery terminal. It should be a separate wire from the positive cable. Trace that and see if something is wrong with it's connections.
