How do I turn the sound off on my Motorola Grasp?

I would love to turn the sound off on my phone. Not the normal volume, I'm not quite that helpless. No, I need to turn the sound off from when you turn your phone on and off. That annoying little ring is going to get me in trouble if I can't turn it off. I can't find it on my menu anywhere. Help is appreciated.
