How do u make a boom box out of car audio equipment?

I am considering making a boom box out of car audio components:
- Head unit
- 2 6X9 speakers
- Amp
- Amp wiring kit
- Sub
- on/off switch
- and a car battery.

the only problem is that i have been told is that using an amp, it will just drain the battery and i will need to recharge it every so often. this is a major problem as idealy the boom box is supposed to be portable.
Please help!!! any sugestions on how to stop the amp draning the battery????
 
well who ever told you the amp will drain the batter is right. i think they have portable battery chargers at autozone or some place like that. some of them are not that big and can be carried around. and if not, it wont be able to work
