Just say that that is your opinion, and this is mine, and it is obvious that you want to win, and I dont want to argue, so end of subject.
I bet they will not know what to say.
I know some one who is a pain to talk to. Everytime I tell him something, he argues that I'm wrong, even though he knows nothing about the subject at hand. He dosent respond it logic or common sense and he likes to steer the arguement away with insults and stupid remarks. So how do you or better yet, can you argue with ignorant people and win?
A lot of people hate to be wrong. They think it is a put down on their intelligence and self esteem. So don't tell them they are wrong; just give them the facts and where they can read it for themselves. Then change the subject. My father always said if you argue with a fool, that makes one out of you. A good example, I got into a heated argument with a lady who said humans were not related to apes! I told her about the DNA and fossil evidence, etc. when she said thats a lie 'cause God made man in 7 days from dust of the earth. I just shut up & walked away.
OMG! I know exactly what u r talking about! I know someone just like that!!! I had to learn the hard way that u cannot argue with an ignorant person. They like to switch it on u saying ur the one that's closed minded etc. The best advice I can give u is I hope u r a mentally strong person and that will get u far. I highly suggest u just stop getting into an argument with an ignorant person cause the debate will ALWAYS be a standstill. IT may hurt ur pride a little, but ignorant ppl are the worse to get into a debate with esp when something has already been proven and u as the sane person is drawing from the facts. What I've learned from all debates is that at the end of the day u just have the prove the other person wrong or better yet WALK AWAY! Getting into a debate with ppl like that is HUGE STRESS and a pain in the neck!
