How do you burn a widescreen DVD?

I downloaded The Edge...it was a widescreen DVD...then i tried to burn it, and the DVD came all stretched out like on a normal 4:3 standard...then I checked the 16:9 aspect box, but I got the same results the second time around...

I should mention that I'm using Express Burn to burn DVDs here...what do I do??
