How do you download torrents when powerpoint viewer won't let you?

Whenever I try downloading songs, movies, etc. it says power point viewer can not open this file because this is not a power point file.
Please give me an answer this is making me really mad!!
 
sounds like your file associations are messed up - if the extension of the files are ".torrent" then they're currently assigned to open with your PowerPoint Viewer

if you have a file on your PC with that extension then right-click on it and select "Open with ..." - in the dialog that opens select your bittorrent program in the list (may have to manually locate it) - anyway, check the box to "Always use this program" (or whatever it says) and that should fix it

EDIT: I realized later that it was a problem with the default "handlers" with your web browser and not the file associations that is set for your file browser (Windows Explorer)

how you fix it depends on the browser you're using - for Firefox google "firefox default application" or "internet explorer file types" for IE - you should be able to find a fix
