how do you get a bluetooth to work on a playstation 3 system?

I have a playstation 3 system and i cant figure out how to add a bluetooth to it so i can chat with my friends online.

on the main screen of the ps3..
Settings > Accessory Settings > Manage Bluetooth Devices > Add a New Device
im not at my ps3 but i think this is right.. you have to set your headset in discovery mode before you can find the device
