How do you get over bad rumors at school?

So, I'm the girl who is innocent and nice to everyone and is always making good choices. I have lots of friends and am a happy person with always a smile on my face. Well, I've been making bad choices lately and I hurt my best friend. I started talking to the guy she was pratically in love with and I sent him a picture. I confronted her about it and told her. She trusted me with everything and she was always such a great friend to me and I stabbed her in the back. Now all my friends hate me and I'm so alone. I don't know what to do, there's nothing I can do but say sorry. Everyone's making rumors up that I called him and started moaning and stuff like that, but I would never do that, I'm not that perso. I am heartbroken that I hurt my friend and lost her respect for me. I dont know how to gain it back and I don't know if I can go to school tomorrow while all this is going on. So many rumors and everyone will say whore as I walk down the hallway. I'm a freshman this year in high school. I'm so depressed. I feel sick anways. I don't know if I should go to school tomorrow or not because if I don't everyone will probably talk more.
 
Apologize, apologize, apologize to your friend. Try and make it up to her any way you can- you have to prove that you're a good person again.
You probably should take 1 day off while you emotionally recuperate, but no more than 1 day. Because then more rumors will start, and who needs that? You can always use the excuse of 'feminine issues'. No one asks any questions after that.
Now you have to prove to the whole school that you are NOT that girl. Stand up and be proud, and if they start talking walk by them with a straight face and ignore it. Hopefully, they'll find someone else to torment before too long. They always do.
Now you have to learn from your mistakes. You know you've done wrong, don't do it again. And if you stay on the right path, they won't have any reason to talk about you.
 
Take some actions and you can prove you at last , everyone can see your action , but , they do not believe what you say . Action is more powerful than the words .
