...appear to be front-runners? I have encountered sprints, usually allowance, high priced claiming or stakes races at five or six furlongs where it seems the entire field is packed with speed and no horse on paper appears to be a closer; a friend said in such a case to bet on the most speed or the horse that probably could reach the 1/2 fastest - how do you approach such a quagmire?
