My wife is from a communist country and is 100% athiest. I am a christian. I want my kids to be christian. My wife doesn;t mind if I share knowledge about religion with them. But I am in this post communist country and it is a little complicated. Only catholics here, and zero options for churches. Either way, I want them to get some knowledge about christianity. It's up to me to teach them if I want to I guess. If you are a christian do you teach your kids? It is a bit bizarre for me to imagine being in charge of this. It is something I never really thought about when I decided to have kids. How do you handle it?
animefan- I am not sure what capitalizing the M on myth does to change its meaning. I know what myth means.
OK, Lets all assume they will have the choice of religion when they are older and I am not forcing anyone.

Well, you could do what my professor does. He says that religion is a myth (mind you he is a christian) and if you beleive in it the myth gets a capital M (thus would be Myth). Tell them stories and such, let them decide if they want to believe it or not.

Typically, capitalizing the first letter of a word is supposed to add emphasis. And, you know what? NO. JUst let your kids decide their own religion. I think forcing religion upon them will only force them to be Atheists. I was raised Catholic and as a result despised the religion and became an Atheist. If my parents had let me decide for myself, I might have developed a healthy view on religion. I still find it interesting; I might have ended up a strict Christians if I hadn't been pushed as a child!
