How do you inflate a bike tyre?

so i found an old bike in my shed and I also found a hand pump with valve thingy's but the bike must be super old because there is almost no air in the tyres but I can't figure out how to pump the tyre's this probably has a really obvious answer but I can't figure out, and my sister just told me that I have to take the wheel off to pump it but I can't figure out how to do that help?
 
you don't need to take the wheel off the valve stem will be sticking out of the rim (Little black thingy lol) u just put the pump on that and pump it up good luck
