i ask this because i cant lol. ive turned down 2 job offers to feed the need to do what i love, martial arts. before you jump on me too much about the job offers one was a temp job. but now i feel awful because i have a son and i want the best for him and martial arts got in the way. as much as i love martial arts i love my son more, when it came down to it the choice was easy.

long story short is how do people manage that on top of sustaining family work and money issues i mean martial arts is a lot of money.

just wondering! thanks
and yes my gi is gone and i dropped martial arts classes and the mma dream.

That is a tough one for most people. I solved it with some difficulty, by the martial arts being my business as well as my interest. I have no children, but I do have a wife (Read as Boss!). I sacrificed many good opportunities job wise to pursue my passion. but if I had children, things might have been different.

It's hard. I too turned down jobs to do martial arts. I raised 4 kids, all of them in the martial arts. They are all grown up now and 3 of them are still active in the martial arts training and teaching. It has made a world of difference to them. It helped two of them overcoming major problems when growing up and all the kids turned out really good. Granted we didn't have a lot of money and the kids held jobs from a very early age but they all know how to work now. They didn't have the designer stuff in High School but their clothes were clean and now it doesn't matter anymore anyway.
The 3 boys are all eagle scouts. 3 children served 2 year missions for our church in a foreing country one served 2 years in the US. One is a scout leader and volunteered in scout camps and explorer posts. Yes, we had hard times but I have no regrets would do it all over again.
What do you think is best for your son?
