How do you remove a car lighter thats stuck?

I drive a Chevy Cavalier and it came without a ashtray or car lighter. My friend's dad drives a Ford Focus that came with a lighter. My friend stupidly shoves the lighter into my car after I tried and said it wouldn't fit. Now it's stuck and when you pull on it the dash starts to pull off. So basically, how do I get a car lighter out without ripping my dash off, or loosing the ability to use the jack? If the jack is gonna break I'll just leave it for display cause I'm a smoker and it's ironic in some way.

yep put your knees on both sides of the dash board and pull that sucker out, then take your friend, bend him over and kick that lighter as far up his bung hole as possible for being too stoopid for words.
