Ok, I am trying to make an AMV and I have all the clips I want on the DVDs I have. I can do everything, but I don't know how to import any video file into my computer, and I don't want to mess up the actual DVD itself! I really want to know how to get the episodes and videos on my computer so I can work with them! And if it helps at all, I have Windows Movie Maker, just in case it is a certain file to save to. Please and Thank You!

select individual .vob files and then convert to amv..hers a list of converters

You will need to first rip the whole dvd/dvds to your computer here is a free program http://www.winxdvd.com/landing/free-dvd-ripper-02.htm?gclid=CIHN05fg8qcCFQgEbAodzT8Ycw
When installing READ don't just click next, make sure you don't install a bunch of crap. Then you will want to use your movie maker to cut out the clips that you want and so on and delete the movies once you have your clips, the movie files will be large and waste space on your PC. Ripping does however take some time depending on your hardware just to keep in mind.
Hope it works for you
