How do you trade food on Restaurant City?

It's a game on Facebook and I can't make anyhting because I'm always 1 or 2 ingredients short. My friends have them, but when I go to their restaurants and go to the trade thingy and click on what I want, nothing pops up saying what I am willing to offer. I can't get anything. I'm trying foods that are/n't locked, but nothing happend. HELP!!!
