Well, I am guessing you mean a songfic as in fanfiction? If so, you generally have two options.
1. A songfic could be a story based off as song and will include the lyrics in the story. It may or may not have the character actually singing the lyrics.
2. A songfic could be a song you feel is about the universe you are writing in. It could be written in a more essay form including links of how these lyrics fit into the story you are writing about. Example: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6149969/1/War
