How easy is it to cut a bike lock chain ?

I have a bike can i need a chain lock for it. I want to buy one of these at walmart, but my friends
tell me that bolt cutters will cut them easily, a friend said that even 14' inch bolt cutters will
cut through these Walmart bike chain locks. Is that true ?


Here are the locks i am thinking of buying, please help me decide on what to do and if a 14' inch bolt
cutter can truly cut the chains.

OKAY, What i would like to know is if a Bolt Cutter, EVEN A 14' Inch can CUT MY NORMAL CHAIN LOCK THAT I GOT FROM WALMART

Get the Kryptonite lock and put it around the rear rim attached to something through the rear triangle of the bike frame. Go back to the lock / hardware section and buy a 4 ft cable with a loop on each end to secure the front wheel to the lock. When I am on trails and want to secure the bike while I am in a store I just carry the 4 ft cable and use a lock that secures the hitch on a trailer, it's small and lite and there is no room to get bolt cutters on it. The U locks are more secure but the cables are more convenient. Get a lock with a key, combination locks can be hacked and it's too easy to forget the combo.

there isn't a bike lock made that can't be broken given the right tools and enough time. I personally trust locks that take keys more than combination locks because I've seen some tricks to picking some of the cheaper combination locks. Whichever one you decide on though, you still want to be careful where you leave your bike.

it depends on what blade they are useing if it is a hack saw forget it it iwll take them 15 minuets to cut it off but something like a rambo knife easily will cut it
