how is mercedes reliability as of now?

As far as consumers reports goes, the current 08 reliability data places Mercedes Benz just ahead of Ford but below Kia in reliability. It still has a way to go before it catches up with the benchmark set by Toyota and Honda in quality.

im planning to buy either a mercedes benz CLS or C class model because it seems it does everything i want it to do... well almost. not reliability necessarily.
i am aware that '95-'05 benz's where one of the most problematic cars, despite the fact that they built cars like tanks before that.
i want to buy a new car, so no old mercedes.

well alot of people say that its pretty reliable now. i read the brand itself went from 25th to 5th in 08.
yet alot of people say that its still unreliable

well ive got no where to turn my back...

so how is mercedes reliability now? and i mean not just a certain car, i mean... the brand all together
