How is Sidney Crosby whining to the refs different from any other player doing so?

I'd say he should be able to, the kid's accomplished more than most hockey players even dream of at age 23.

And no hating on him, he's not gay. He's down to earth and doesn't take himself to seriously.

Do you remember how whiny Gretzky was early in his career? Eventually, they just let Gretzky has his own rules, any little thing against him would be a penalty. I imagine Sid will eventually get that too. Too many fans wanted to see Gretzky skate around unencumbered more than they wanted to see goons goon it up. . . Even Lemieux wasn't that well loved by the refs.

not gay?

Because he's the star of the NHL and that automatically puts more focus on him than anyone else.

Chris Drury complains to a ref, he's doing his job as Captain.
Sidney complains to a ref, he's being a whiney little baby who gets everything handed to him by the NHL.

Gretzky faced the same adversity, look how that one turned out.
