How long do you have to have my aquarium running before i get fish?

Okay, so i have had my aquarium running for about a week now, and how much longer do i have to wait until i can put fish in? Because at the pet store the lady said 3 weeks, but i really want them in now! lol wouldn't you!!! So just wondering if i have to wait that long. Thanks
 
Is your tank reg. fish or salt water. If just plain ole fish ( angel fish guppies etc.) You can get them NOW. when my kids lived at home we had lots of different fish.Be careful about what kind you buy. As some don't mix well. If saltwater tank you do have to wait ,Ph level etc. We gave up on those you have to be a lot more on top of things.
 
kinda depends on the tank size, but yes 3 weeks. if you dont then your fish arent gunna be so happy. you couldd put them in now and theyl survive, but i dont think you should. maybe put in one fish, just one, and wait 3 weeks so the water will be lived in(fish like their water polluted i guess you could say) for the fish that will be arriving later. best of luck!
