How long will cooked meals keep?

I'm going on holiday in just over a week. We go on a monday and come back on a friday. I am taking a load of shopping with us to last us the week (its only a couple of hours drive away in a caravan park, there will be 4 adults and 4 children). Anyway, someone suggested cooking a couple of meals at home before we go and putting them in the fridge to take there and eat throughout the week. Will the food last that long? If I ever make something and have enough leftovers for a meal I put it in the freezer, or if it goes in the fridge I eat it within a day or 2. If I do make some food on the sunday to take, such as a casserole or something like that, when will I need to eat it by? it will have to survive the car journey, but then will be kept in the fridge when we get there.
