Ok, up front, this question is to anyone who believes that billions of humans will spend eternity in some kind of suffering, whether it's the wimpy "separation from God" or the high-octane "literal flames burning you but you never get to die or get any relief". If that's not you, then if you're going to make me read your inane posts, then at least say something funny, or mocking, or original.
I've spent 30 years trying to convince myself that I won't burn, and three seconds of a glib answer on your part, or a cut/paste of half the bible, isn't going to stir me. So at least come up with some new ridicule, something you haven't said before.
Ok, if anyone has made it this far! Do you guys really feel sad for us? All I ever hear from you guys is that I've made my bed and now I have to sleep in it, or I'm too rude, or disrespectful, blah, blah, blah. But come on. If a stranger is there in front of your eyes, burning and burning but never getting any relief, won't you be moved at all? Won't it tear you apart inside? Why doesn't it move you now, why can't it pierce you anger at me for being belligerent? Can you not understand my belligerence, not even a little bit, I who have been in absolute terror of hell for 30 years? How many of you are even that old and can imagine what "30 years" even means? How many of you have suffered genuine torture? Can you who have been tortured be unmoved?
I'm not sure I have a specific question even. I am just trying to reconcile your claim that billions will suffer with the fact that you're not tearing your hair out trying to convince people who would gladly be convinced. If you showed any atheist something meaningful that points more conclusively to the Yahweh story than to any other tribal myth, most of them would be moved. They're unmoved not because they're evil or homosexual or blind. It's because the evidence is just not convincing. Would you expect to be considered bone-headed or blind if you didn't believe me when I say that I have a third arm that only I can see?
No one has made it this far, I'm sure. But I'll put the question any way. Can you explain the apparent discrepancy between your behavior toward unbelievers and your beliefs about their fate?
