There is no book called "The Origin of the Species".
You may be referring to the book "On the Origin of Species" by Charles Darwin.
Actually, Darwin's principles have been used to predict the end to end fusion of two chromosomes (now known as Human Chromosome 2) in the human species. In other members of Hominidae, ie, other primates, there is an extra chromosome, but in humans, two chromosomes fused. Geneticists used Darwin's principles to find where these two chromosomes joined together (because in the centre of the chromosome, there is a pair of telomeres, which normally appear at the ends of chromosomes. In this way, evolutionary principles were applied to a problem and the result confirmed what was expected. The theory was confirmed by science that was unknown in Darwin's time. THis is not a prophecy coming true. It is just an example of how science puts forward an idea, and it is later confirmed by evidence.
However, the book is not a religious text. It would be like opening a copy of the phone book and expecting a prophecy and then looking to see if it came true.
People who don't believe in magic normally don't believe in prophecies. Unless you can prove to me the scientific evidence behind someone's ability to predict the future, I won't believe in prophecy.
