the World Cup? I have noticed that a lot of English fans made this claim during the tournament on several forums, and it's an embarrassing one indeed.
So who here thinks Spain were/are boring, own up. I don't consider anyone who can't appreciate a team are as entertaining and talented as Spain genuine football fans.
*who are
Man United 4 eva - English fans are very jealous of Spain these days, what with Barcelona making a mockery of all of their clubs in the Champion's League. Their perverse bitterness has now extended to the national team, not least because so many Barca players play for them.
These are the same people who say Xavi and Messi are overrated, and that Spain would struggle to make the top four in the PL because they couldn't beat Stoke on a cold Wednesday night at the Britannia. Their opinions are warped and therefore meaningless to any rational football fan.
I have to disagree however with Spain being the 'best team ever'. That's too much. Brazil 1970 are probably the best team ever. Carlos Alberto, Clodoaldo, Gerson, Tostao, Rivelino, Jairzinho, Pele...
I said Brazil 1970. Not the present Brazil, whom Spain are no doubt better than.
Oops - that should read Barcelona would struggle to make top four in PL, not Spain. Please accept my humble apologies for the oversight, English fans.
Also, I don't think Holland 'owned' Brazil. Brazil ran the game for the first 50 minutes and then imploded inexplicably after Cesar's mistake.
