How much does it cost to fix an itouch LCD light?

My iTouch's backlight went out...now its a dark screen and you could barely see what is on the screen. How much does it cost to replace a the backlight and fix it?
 
Take it to the Apple Store. They might be able to fix it for free. I know the fix cracked MacBooks for free. If they do charge, it will probably be only 10-20 dollars.
