How much does it cost to get a Motorola Droid fixed?

My dad is offering to give me his old Motorola Droid cell phone for my birthday (or I can get my own, it's just because it would be a shame to put a year old phone to waste so soon) and the screen is cracked! As a perfectionist, this kind of thing bothers me... Should I get the screen fixed, or just get a new one? And how much would the cost of that be? It's about a 3 inch light crack in the screen... and I'm no phone expert so feedback would be appreciated.
 
You cannot "fix" the screen, you would have to replace the screen. You can either buy a new screen and install it yourself (all it takes is a few screws... ), or you can take it in to be fixed; either way will be cheaper if the phone is a Driod. If the phone is a yaer old, then the contract should still exist meaning you can have it fixed for free by taking it to the retail location of your contract (Verzion store etc.).

Also, tell your dad he is a god damn fucking asshole trying to give you something that HE ALREADY OWNS AND CAN GIVE YOU FOR FREE ON ANY DAY as a birthday "present".
