I got a new car 2 weeks ago. A Vauxhall Corsa 2000. Me and my mates are going away for a weekend in Liverpool to watch the football and im using my car to get us there. There are 5 of us going to be in the one car and i am wondering would it be able to hold the weight for the 100mile journey? We arent all fat thats not the case. But we are big men!! How much weight could a 1,2 Litre engine take??

well it really depends more on the preformance output of the engine than the size, such as if it was turbocharged it would have pleanty of power even though it is only 1.2L. But assuming it is just a standard engine, I would guess it puts out around 100 HP. so as long as there are not big hills along the way, it should be fine keeping up with traffic. acceleration will be slow and hills will be very slow but im sure it will do fine.

my old Subaru had a 1.8L engine which since it was an 87' model only put out around 100 HP and I hauled 5 - 7 people all over the place and only had problems keeping up with traffic on really big hills. It would even do interstate speed with 5 people and the hatch back filled with luggage. so I think you'll be fine.

good luck
