How should I handle this buyer for my car?

I have my car up for sale, and thought that I had found a realible buyer. He's a friend so I didnt think much about what was going to happen. At first he wanted to borrow the car for a couple of days. We mentioned selling the car to him, but he can't do anything about the money until February. Now he's been hammering down on my case because I haven't went to the bank to talk to them... Ok Hello... You have my car how can I do that.... I told him that I needed the car tomorrow and a few days this next week, He told me Yeah Whatever and hung up. Mind you, its still January, not February and I still havent received anything or word about if he still wants to buy my car and I haven't seen my car. If he doesn't bring my car back tonight or tomorrow should I contact the police?
PS... Probably not going to sell the car to him because I overheard what's really going on with him, and he's done this before.
