How soon will ps2 be discontinued?

I have a wii and ps3. I only play sports games on ps3. I rarely play the wii because I am always broke buying games for the ps3. Should I sell my ps3 and get a ps2? And when it gets discontinued I could play the sports games on the wii. What should I do? With summer over I will only play on the weekends and am getting a job so I won't have time for an expensive machine but I don't know what to do. Any ideas? I know selling the ps3 would probably be stupid but I'm not sure.
 
I don't think the PS2 will last much longer because nobody makes games for it anymore besides Crossplatformer games like Guitar Hero or Rock band but that doesn't make the PS2 less fun. The huge selection of games already out is more than enough to last you years. If you can manage to get a decent price for your PS3 like $200+ you should just sell it and buy a PS2 and some great games that should last you for awhile. Then maybe buy the PS3 again in the future, I mean the price already dropped once (PS3 slim $299) who knows maybe it'll drop again in the future.
