how to boot from dvd drive? windows xp?

I'm going to install windows 7. The img is on a dvd disc and loaded in the dvd drive. This computer isn't an all in one drive for media. How do I boot from the dvd drive only?
 
You have to restart your PC, go into the bios (by clicking F2 or some other button specified when you turn on your PC). Then, in the bios you need to change your boot priority. You have to make the CD/DVD drive be the first things that boots when you turn on your PC.
 
you mean the computer has a CD optical drive and a dvd drive? Then go into bios and change the boot order to boot from CD or DVD in your case should be listed.
