There are two parts to this question.

First, I would like to know the actual difference in braking power between my cars versus Katherine and her bike. Second, I would like to know the actual difference in the ratio of weight comparison between my cars versus Katherine and her bike.

The aim of this question is to explore the possible hazard when a cyclist intentionally racing against a car. Here is the scenario.

I’ve completed a set of advance defensive and tactical driving courses. Since both of my cars have ABS brakes, if I need to stop in an emergency, my natural instinct is to thump the brake as hard as possible and hold my foot on the pedal and let the ABS brakes pulsate, as well as rattle. I won’t release the pedal until I no longer need to brake. So, if Katherine is following me by just 1 car length at just 35 km/h, she still won’t stand a chance to stop in time.

The curb weight of my Eclipse Spyder is 1695 kg and my Camry Hybrid is 1669 kg. While the combine weight of Katherine and her bike is merely 58 kg. So, the “block” which GlennB suggested is a very aggressive move. While I don’t consent to it, she still loves to do it! I usually slow down when I spot it, but is nonetheless risky.
