How to change the wiper arm on a 2003 gmc sierra?

how do you remove the arm? I have the bolt off and it looks as though the only thing holding it as pressure anyone know how to remove it?

Don't pry on it. There is a tool made especially to remove these, if you don't have one go to an auto-parts store and buy a 4 dollar battery clamp remover, it works just as well. Also, use a marker to mark the position of the splines to make it easier to re-install. That way you won't have to re-do it when you find that the wiper no longer parks at the proper angle. Just don't pry on it.

The wiper arm is pressed onto the linkage by a set of lead splines. This keeps the wiper arm in the correct position even if the bolt is loose. Just use a pry bar or screw driver to pry it off, and make sure you mount the new one in the correct position. It will give you a bit of resistance, just make sure you pry it off straight, as to not damage the mount. Good luck!
