Hi, I live in syria and in this country, all mobiles are sold with the GPS features disabled. I have nokia X6. While searching the internet, I have learned that the GPS chip is not missing on the X6, it is "only" disabled. I would like to enable it but of course, the official Nokia retailer in Syria (Mabco corporation) don't want to help and I don't find a tutorial to activate my GPS ship. I have only the Bluetooth GPS option What can I do? Thanks

N.B: if you know if there is a website for downloading symbian firmwares, it would be good.

Why don't you read phone's user guide and learn how to use it. See http://europe.nokia.com/appmanager/UnitedStatesEnglishEUROPE_NOKIA_COM_3/Get_support;JSESSIONID_NCOM=gQ29LQxB7rbqJ0c1PktpY3Kvy3Zzv1ZsX0k89h1zhtdQ15LnWVQT!1858476680?_nfpb=true&_windowLabel=T402877024331264051638784&_pageLabel=P3117731&wsrp-urlType=blockingAction&wsrp-url=&wsrp-requiresRewrite=&wsrp-navigationalState=&wsrp-interactionState=_action%3D/pageflows/EMEASupportTool/begin&wsrp-mode=&wsrp-windowState=

The GPS settings are under Settings -> Phone -> Applications -> Positioning -> Positioning methods.

Make sure that "Internal GPS" is turned on, if you have a data plan, activate "Assisted GPS" as well - it will generate some data traffic but it will also improve the speed of finding the location.

Other than that, ensure that you have the latest firmware ( http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update ) and install the latest version of the Ovi Maps application (free) from http://maps.nokia.com
