How to get past rumors in middle school?

So for Valentine's Day, I'm gonna ask this girl out. Either way, rumors will spread in my school. If she says yes, I'm okay with the rumors, if she says no, then I'm not. So if it's a no, and people ask me about, how should I handle it. In the past, I just use my poker face and say, what are you talking about? But that didn't work out too well
