My Ubuntu laptop has no internet access. I have internet access on other computers (and I had it on my laptop when I was dual-booting Vista/Ubuntu) but I can't get Ubuntu to work with my (Atheros) wireless card. There are lots of cool applications I've been looking at for my laptop, but almost all of them tell me to download them using Ubuntu's software manager, and very few offer a download that I can save to my flash drive and transfer that way. Or do they, and I'm just missing it? How can I get applications on my laptop?
Obviously I have to download the packages and transfer them - my point is that few sites seemed to offer them for download.

You can download the packages directly, then move them via flashdrive.

You'll have to download them on the other pc's then transfer by disk or flash drive.
