I know it sounds bad, but it's almost dead anyway and I just want to put it out of it's misery! I plan on getting a new one some time soon, but my mom said that "As long as it still sorta works, let's hold out."
Now the lining on the left side of the phone has popped off (under the volume rocker) and you can see the slider thing. I kinda wanna do something with that. Anything creative, but yet still looks like a natural cause of death?
And no, I'd rather not "drop it in the toilet."
 
have you tried taking a strong magnet to the sims card or the whole phone.
your parents have old speakers in the garage? those usually have strong magnets on them.
