I am supposed to have a 7-minute-long presentation about Theodore Dreiser and his novel An American Tragedy. The teacher's requirements are as follows: it should catch everyone's attention, it should be lively, and it shouldn't be just about facts; you just need to spice it up. However, the author seems to have led a boring life, and I'm afraid my presentation will therefore slip into a tedious one. I'm working my ass off to find something interesting, shocking even, about his life, but I can't find anything. Something's wrong when even Google fails to help...
