How to not care what people think of me fashion wise? BQ also?

I'm a freshmen in high school and I want to change how I dress. I decided to go grunge and I'm up for it, it's just I tend to care what people think of me and take it to heart. The freshmen and sophomores will talk about me, but the upperclassmen will compliment me for being different. How can I stop caring what people think of me fashion wise?

BQ: My school is mostly black and they tend to make fun of what you wear if it isn't name brand or super expensive (including the teachers). I noticed that when I'm around other races, they don't care about what you wear. Is that the same with you guys or is it just me?
 
I've noticed (not to be racist) A lot of black people care a lot about name brand shit more than most white people do. I know, that sounds awful. lol. But anyway, you stop caring about what other people think by loving how you look. You need to be confident. love yourself :) If you love the way you look, they can fuck off.
Or sew a Sean Jean emblem to the back of your clothes...? lol jk
