I have a XBOX 360 from around 2007 with HDMI. Recently, the power center button would flash green and reset the system during only 5 mins of play time. Looking over some forums, it seems to be the DVD drive and I would like to replace it.

How would I replace it? Not physically really, I know how to open the XBOX and physically replace the drive and cables, but reading around, they say you have to flash the drive and set the motherboard ID to the drive. Is this necessary? Should I get the same model DVD drive it had or can I upgrade to a better one? Exactly what would I have to do to replace the DVD drive in fully functional XBOX condition??

Thanks for any help!
