How to save text messages as ringtones from Ventones?

I recently got my Iphone, and I made a couple of ringtones that I sent to my phone. The only problem is that once I get the text message, I'm not sure what to do next? If I hit edit, then all I can do is forward it or delete the message. If I just click on the text message all I can do is play the ringtone. I tried emailing it to my gmail account, but even then I'm not sure how to convert it as a ringtone. HELP
