how to unlock keypad on motorola razr phone?

no pass code or any keys work
keypad is locked padlock icon in upper right screen
friend suggested to remove battery, this seemed to do it

if it asks you for a code, try the last 4 numbers of your cell ph number
 
Usually by pressing menu then the star key. If it is locked by a code, you will need the code. If it is brand new the default code is1234 or the last four digits of the phone's number.
 
i think you just hold down the # button...i have a chocolate flip phone and i remember locking they keypad and i looked at the # button and there was alittle image of a lock printed on the key aswell as the # sign
