How to update jailbroken and unlocked iPhone 3GS 3.1.3 to iOS 4.0.1?

I have a jailbroken and unlocked iPhone 3GS 3.1.3 firmware with 5.12.01 Baseband. I want to update it to iOS4.0.1 and yes i know that iOS4.2.1 is out but I dont want to update that far. How do I update it without losing my unlock or if i update it will i still be able to unlock it after. Please give me all the details.DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING OUT, EVERYTHING IS IMPORTANT. THANK YOU :)
