How to use a bluetooth headset+mic for Yahoo Messenger?

I like talking to my friends using Yahoo Messenger. Yet, I need to stay close to my laptop to be able to use my built-in microphone. My laptop Sony Vaio C Series does not have a bluetooth connection. I am thinking of getting a bluetooth headset+mic, my questions are:
1. Can I use any bluetooth headset+mic to make a phone call on YM?
2. Since I dont have a bluetooth connection in my laptop, do I need an additional bluetooth adaptor?

If your laptop does not have bluetooth, yes, you need to get a USB-bluetooth adapter. The drivers (usually widcomm) come with the adapter.

Get the BT headset-mic, and pair it with your laptop-following the headset's manual. Once done, the default sound will automatically change to bluetooth audio (when connected and paired). Yahoo messenger will then work with your new headset because it uses the default sound setting for speaker and mic.
