Man this is not working out! I do jiu jitsu and muay thai 5 or 6 days a week (on a good week). With the muay thai I have lost allot of muscle and am at a feminine 175, I want to get back to my hulking 200. I know, I know martial arts is not about size but skill, but I like to look like a comic book super hero and so do the ladies.
Anyway, When I do hit the weights, lets say Im doing squats 15-20 reps 3 times moderate weight and more leg exercises the next day in muay thai I cant even kick because Im so sore, can barley make it up stairs! same with upper body if I do benching and tricepts then later at jiu jitsu Im too sore to push and pull.
How do I quicken recovery, how can I keep doing my bench, squats, deadlifts, with out being sore? How do some pros (belfort, marquart, okami, phalahares, thaigo, sherk) maintain such muscle mass and train MMA full time?!
