'On Sept. 23, a mob of Muslim extremists shot at and beat a dozen Christians in Gujrat, the latest of more than 10 assaults in the Christian-dominated region. The mob beat up Tariq Gill, a Christian cleared of "blasphemy" charges on Sept. 3, 2009, according to Rev. Suleman Nasri Khan and Bishop Shamas Pervaiz. Tariq's mother was stripped naked and dragged through the streets by the assailants. Tariq and his parents, and the other injured Christians have been hospitalized according to Pastor Khan.
Pastor Khan says three Muslim politicians were behind the violence and the assailants have vowed to mount an attack on the Christian colony in Gujrat similar to the Islamist assault on Gojra in Aug. 2009, when an Islamic mob attacked the Christian colony, burning at least seven Christians to death, injuring 19 others, looting more than 100 houses and setting fire to 50 of them. Among those killed in Gojra were women and children.

Pray for healing for the injured and ask the Lord to place a hedge of protection around the Gujrat Christians. Pray that the Muslims will come to know the true God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Pray that the authorities will take action on behalf of the Christians and bring the perpetrators to justice.
