F = ma = m d/dt( dxdt) and a is your acceleration formula ( usually a is function of x or t) and d/dt( dxdt) is the second derivative of x with respect to t. This gives you a differential equation to solve to get your answer. There is no standard way to solve these problems and many have no analytic solution, but the ones assigned as homework do.
