htc p3400i storage card problem.....!!!!!!!!plzzzz guys help me out?

recently i bought a htc p3400i phone...it has a 2 gb storage card...whenever i want to put any song or video in my storage(memory) card it says that the disk is write protected...my storage card is all empty so no chance of less space of memory....even i cant cut and paste phone memory data to storage card....i dont know how to do it please help me out please
 
Format the memory card. Most memory cards need to be formatted for phones. Either do it in the computer, or try doing it from your phone. I used to have an HTC Touch, but I forgot how to format cards....On Blackberry, it's very simple. Maybe go to Start, then settings, then go to your memory card?
