Here is the scenario:
Husband has decided to go hunting. He takes off about 4 AM in the morning. Wife is at home tending to the children (1,3,7,& 9yrs.) and is currently pregnant. At 8AM in the morning while wife is in the kitchen making breakfast, a male neighbor who is located 1.5 miles from your home enters on to your property and begins to yell obscenities from outside, he declares he has a problem with the barking of your husband's dogs, he yells continuous obscenities which include he is going to shoot your husband's dogs. Then, speeds off to his home, in addition your home is located 30 minutes away from the closest town/hospital/and local authorities, as you live out in a very dense rural area.
Questions:
1) (husbands) You receive frantic call from your wife about neighbor, what do you do?
2) (husbands) Are there any husbands that would not come home? if yes why?
3) (wives) What do you do?
4 (wives) What if husband says, "Blah," Don't bother me I'm HUNTING!"
Thanks for humoring me
Interesting Answers =)! I am surprised some women aren't concerned if their husband would have shown no concern for their safety. I am also intrigued that some women would not even bother to say anything to their husband.
The real result:
The police were most definitely called, and there was a 45 minute wait for them to arrive. The neighbor didn't come back, and has since stopped harassing our families household. Although, the police stated they would do a report, I never received a case number for their so called report. I believe the neighbor could be confusing our dogs with a few troublesome strays in the area and possibly coyotes howling at night, they do it every night or my neighbor could have bat ears. Regardless though, I am in agreement with the neighbor about the dogs, regardless of his going about it, I did not want my husband getting the dogs, because I knew he would not accept the responsibility that comes with taking care of a dog let alone 2 big labs, also being that
we work 30 minutes away, and for 10-12 hours a day we are not home, they don't always stay pinned up, and their are plenty of farm animals that stretch across our community of farmers, when ever they do bark it is annoying, mostly at wild animals and when someone drives onto our property. On the contrary because all of our neighbors live 1.5 to 3mi away, we only see them as we drive passed each other or at our mailboxes. None of us really know who each other are, just that we all have one thing in common, we all are private property owners, we did have 2 guns at our home, which I could not find the bullets too, lord only knows why. We only have one vehicle, and he took it, he never takes our dogs hunting with him, they'd probably do more scaring away than assisting, I did call my husband, to let him know our neighbor crossed the line, (normally he just posts signs on our property, for us to find when we get home), but yep he said, "blah, I'm hunting, deal with it when I get home."
Re
Reason for posting, because it truly bugged me that my husband will drive 1.5hrs. right this minute if his older brother called to say his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend is threatening him over the phone. However, if a neighbor crosses the line, concern for wife, yeah... not quite feeling the same love there...
Additional info: Not sure where the neighbor went, just know he sped off and was headed up the road towards his home. Not one to cry wolf, I rarely call my husband. Reasons' I ever call that man... "I am at the stored do you need anything?", "I see I missed 3x calls from you.. is everything ok?", "Hey, I'm going to be running a little late" As far as hunting, he hunts just about every weekend. He hunts every other weekend AT THE LEAST!, and has even used annual leave to take time off work to go off on a hunting adventure with buddies. So, it's not like the poor man doesn't get to go hunting.
On a side note, just wanted to know how other husbands and wives would of handled the sam
